SAMPLE LETTER # 1
Dear Councilmember X, I'm writing you today to voice my opposition to the construction of the Power Plant. Our area simply can not take another industrial polluter. We want good development that enriches our lives and builds the character of our community. The economic benefits that go along with the plant aren't worth the potential risk to ground water, our air, and our health. Even though this plant is considered new it will still send hundreds of tons of pollution into our air. Let's stop Caithness and have LIPA retrofit their older plants. I need you to stand up for this community and say no to the Caithness Power Plant Sincerely, NAME |
SAMPLE LETTER # 2
Dear Councilmember X, I'm writing you today to voice my opposition to the construction of the Caithness Power Plant. From the very beginning LIPA and Caithess have treated this community like a obstacle rather than a neighbor. We are tired of being disrespected by two big companies that think they know what's best for our community more than us. I'm insulted by the piece of PR literature I received recently from Caithness. Why didn't they send mailings in the beginning of the process when my opinion really mattered? We're tired of being dumped on and even more tired of being disrespected by big companies that only want to make money as our quality of life is permanently destroyed. I need you to stand up for this community and say no to the Caithness power plant. Sincerely, NAME |
